Software Installation
Who will be responsible for the initial installation?
RESPA Inc will provide installation of local server and
Customer computers. However, it is assumed that the
Customer will provide an installation support manager to
be trained in performing all future system installation
activities.
If the Customer is responsible for the initial
installation, what assistance will be offered?
RESPA Inc provides comprehensive installation support
training and can assist in network configuration, and
all other tasks required for successful implementation.
What training is initially provided for technical
support personnel?
RESPA Inc supplies system support training to provide
knowledge to the Customer's technical staff for
backup/restoration procedures, troubleshooting, and MS
SQL 2005 database support and help desk access.
What training is initially provided for users of the
system?
RESPA Inc offers workshops for users to prepare them to
implement and use the system. The workshops are broken
down into type like concept, operation, follow-up based
on the modules being implemented. These workshops are
provided at customer site
How much vendor support will be offered over the
technical support phone line?
RESPA Inc offers consulting, both technical and user,
and software troubleshooting. Problems reported via our
help desk are prioritized as to criticality and then
assigned for resolution..
Are there any special installation options?
Software installation is based on modules purchased and
the network on which they are to be installed. This is
typically a planned exercise with both the Customer and
RESPA Inc analysts contributing to evaluating
installation options
What agreements are there for preliminary on-site
product evaluations?
RESPA Inc has no standard agreements for such but can
offer software for evaluation involving performance
testing, pilot tests, etc.
What is conference room pilot?
The actual software demo with Customer's own data will
be carried out along with users. This will help user to
understand capabilities/drawbacks of the software. The
scope of work (specification requirements) will be
finalized based on this study.

User Interface
Is the user interface a GUI?
Yes, Microsoft dot NET
Which GUI interface is the application developed for
(windows, etc.)?
Windows XP Professional
How friendly is the use of the system?
The system is designed to offer simple user-friendly
operation. Wherever possible, the system presents
information in a form that is easily reliable to the
user's job function. For example, equipment information
is presented in form similar to how one would use such
information. It is expected that much less formal
instruction will be required to use this application
than is required for a procedural-based system. In
addition, by saving user preferences, the system will
default to those preferences to facilitate access to
routine needs.
Is the on-line help of high quality?
Yes. The format follows standard Windows conventions
with the ability to scan on key words and look-up detail
as required.
Is the screen flow logical?
Yes. Flow is based on the natural business process flow
for performing work. It is also flexible so that
shortcuts are easy as allowed by system security.
How much report customization is allowed?
The provision is made in all masters where user can
define fields & sequence in which report is to be prined,
even the report heading can be defined. The table
structures are provided, so that the data administrator
can generate the reports as per the requirements.
Is there a user group that the Customer can get involved
with to guide future development?
Yes. We have two user activities that the Customer can
be involved with. First, we have an annual user group
meeting where general product direction is discussed and
reviewed. We also have user focus groups (materials,
production, quality and accounting), which meet
periodically throughout the year to evaluate and set
recommended product development direction. Focus group
participants are to represent the broad user community
and to prioritize desired enhancements. Depending upon
nature of enhancement it can be incorporated in present
version or next version.

Application Software
Are there any special security features built into the
application?
Are passwords required?
Are passwords encrypted?
Are there multiple levels of passwords?
We provide an application security module, which
controls user access to application function and the
database. The system administrator establishes the
passwords. All passwords are encrypted.

How much customization is allowed in the application?
Unlimited customization is allowed via the application
data dictionary and translation features. Additional
report customization is available through Crystal Report
or other similar utilities.
Is this application integrated with other common desktop
software (word processors, spreadsheets, etc.)?
Are there import/export capabilities?
Does your system come 'As-Is' or can we modify/
customize to fit our needs?

Do you have audit trails?
All data updates are logged in files that are used for
auditing and reporting activity. All financial related
transactions are logged into files that can be used for
auditing and interface with financial packages.

Database
Issues
Suggested platform for running the database?
Mid-range computers for high transaction volumes,
Pentium or RISC-based machines for medium to low
transaction volumes.
What is the vendor’s role in database design?
Will the vendor do the design?
Will the Customer do the design? Or will it be done
jointly?
The database design is delivered with the system. The
application package has a preset logical database
design. This design specifies which data elements belong
to what tables, referential integrity requirements, and
the database triggers required. Data storage
requirements are dependent on the Customer's volume
projections. We have no way to estimate that without
additional information.
Are data compression algorithms used to store data?
No, unless inherent within the database package
Are there any backup and database recovery
recommendations?
Yes. A regular database backup procedure is provided
with RESPA and can be initiated during system
implementation.
Do you provide any tools to assist in data migration?
We will provide services to design and write programs to
perform data migration from existing systems to the new
system.
What data load interfaces are used?
We provide file import/export features for selected
data.
Is there a recommend limit on the transaction volumes
supported by the application (throughput)?
No. Transaction volumes and concurrent users define
network bandwidth requirements, database and file server
sizing. Thus, transaction volumes drive
hardware/software/network configurations.
What AD HOC query support is recommended or provided?
Included with the product is the capability for the user
to develop custom queries. Additional capability is
available through the use of Crystal Report.
Will the system be able to communicate to other database
tables?
Yes can be developed as
per customer’s requirements
With your system can we access data that is at other
locations?
Yes, dependent on having a data path through your VPN
network.
Will the system have the ability to accept information
from other resources (e.g., Purchasing, Financial)?
Yes. It is common for us to develop active interfaces
with other applications and databases.

Reporting
Do you supply an ad-hoc reporting tool with your
product? If so, What is it?
RESPA provide interface with
Crystal Report, which is a powerful reporting software

Software Support
How are software upgrades managed (cost, logistics,
etc.)?
If the customer requests software upgrades, RESPA Inc
will provide systems services on a daily basis to
estimate the effort and then propose a path forward to
perform the work. Costs are quoted based on work scope.
Completed upgrades are delivered with complete
documentation and installation instructions.

managed?
Support is provided one release back of the current
release.
The customer is expected to keep pace with functional
and maintenance releases

Tech
Support Lines
What hours are Tech Support lines available?
RESPA Inc India back office will provide telephone/ fax/
email support during normal office hours excluding
Sundays & Public holidays.
What are the payment terms for technical support calls?
Tech support calls are included in the annual software
maintenance fee, if active. If not, tech support is
offered at professional charges applicable at that time
normally on hour basis.

Training
What ongoing training support is provided for end-users?
User training workshops, as mentioned above, are
provided either in Customer or public settings. There
are user-training workshops also held during the annual
user conference. Custom training can be arranged based
on Customer needs and objectives
What ongoing training support is provided for technical
support staff?
Release training is held during the user conference and
during release installation. Custom training is
available as needed.
How are documentation updates handled (cost, logistics)?
Documentation updates are provided as part of
distribution of the annual release. The costs are
included in the upgrade fee.
Do you provide on-site and offsite training?
Yes. Customer site and in our offices

Miscellaneous
Is e-RESPA available in standalone mode?
Yes. e-RESPA can also be taken in the standalone mode
with MSSQL 2005 as a backend but it will be little use
as the solution is expected to work enterprise wide.
Is e-RESPA available in modular fashion?
Yes. e-RESPA can also be offered in modular fashion.
Some of the selected modules of E-RESPA ( Like QC /
Materials / Production etc. ) can be implemented first
and later can be integrated with other modules.
What are the prerequisites for e-RESPA implementation
